1. Hard hats must be worn by contractor personnel:
· during all field activities;
· when working near exposed electrical conductors; · whenever there are potential risks associated with falling or moving objects; and
· whenever there are overhead objects such as piping, structural elements or machinery elements... that create a bump risk.
2. Contractors must provide training to employees in the proper use of hard hats (by explaining the information presented below).
3. Hard hats must be adjust to fit the head and must be worn with the strap wrapping tightly under the chin, and the brim facing forwards as the hat shape is not designed for protection the other way.
4. Inspect daily hard hats, and maintain them properly: not to throw hard hats against a hard surface, not to store under direct sugnlight, not to use chemicals to wash...
5. Remove hard hats from service if the suspension system shows signs of deterioration or no longer holds the shell away from the employee’s head. Also make sure the brim or shell is not cracked, perforated or deformed or shows signs of exposure to heat, sunlight, chemicals...
6. Limit use of paints and stickers which can hide signs of deterioration in the hard hat shell. Paints, paint thinners, and some cleaning agents can weaken the shell of the hard hat and may eliminate electrical resistance.
7. The right type of hard hats must be provided according to the situations, e.g.
· Class G: for general service; good impact protection but limited voltage protection.
· Class E: for electrical work; protection against falling objects and high voltage.
8. Normally hard hats should be replaced every two years, and sooner when there is any sign of damage.
· trong mọi hoạt động ngoài hiện trường;
· khi làm việc gần nguồn phóng điện;
